Resources for Adjuncts
Employment:
- Full-time job openings are posted in the administration buildings at most colleges. The district no longer keeps applications on file. You may, however, submit your name to the interest pool at www.laccd.edu.
Some employment resources:

LAUSD ? try adult schools at local high schools
Tips:
- Part-timers are paid per course, so the pay is the same for teaching a five-week summer or winter intersession as for teaching a 17-week Fall or Spring semester course.
- Contact Academic Affairs to indicate interest in working as a substitute.
- Adjuncts may serve as appointed vice chairs of departments and be paid for ancillary, non-teaching work, such as curriculum writing, grant writing, and student club advising. This paid work does not count toward the 60% maximum workload. Let your chair know if you are interested.
- Check the seniority list for your discipline to be sure you have been offered a class before someone with lower rank. Academic Affairs and your department chair have updated copies of the lists.
